In this study, we present a JMAK-based model to analyze lithium plating in lithium-ion batteries. The onset of plating is identified by a bell-shaped curve during the constant-voltage charging phase. By fitting the model to this curve, it analyzes plating quantity, growth rate, and dimensionality, providing key insights into plating morphology for different charging conditions. Results show that lower temperatures lead to larger, homogeneous plating, while higher currents cause dendritic, inhomogeneous plating, with a shift in morphology from homogeneous to inhomogeneous as cycling progresses, impacting battery lifespan and safety.
