Seminar language is englisch

The seminar language is English. This seminar will provide you with the tools to independently assess safety considerations related to lithium batteries. In addition to specific firefighting measures and exemplary emergency response plans, fire detection strategies will also be discussed.

Lithium batteries have become an indispensable part of the working environment. Whether in power tools, scanners, or heavy machinery—lithium batteries have become the standard in nearly every sector. The reason seems quite obvious: Lithium batteries are extremely powerful and offer maximum energy for their weight. However, these advantages also come with some disadvantages. Improper use or unnoticed damage can lead to a lithium battery catching fire. In practice, this presents several challenges:

  • How can defects be detected?
  • How can fires be detected?
  • How can a fire be controlled?
  • What can an effective protection concept look like?

These and other questions will be answered in the seminar. The seminar will also examine the contents of the VdS 3103 and 3856 guidelines, which pertain to the operation, testing, and evaluation of lithium batteries in safety-critical applications. The ADR (“European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road”), which regulates the safe transport of lithium-ion batteries, will also be explained.

On the topic

Lithium batteries have become an indispensable part of the modern workplace. Whether in power tools, handheld scanners, or industrial trucks—lithium batteries have established themselves in nearly every sector. This is primarily due to their extremely high performance and maximum energy density combined with low weight. But where there are advantages, there are also risks: Improper use or unnoticed damage can lead to dangerous fires. The seminar will address key questions: How can defects be identified early on? How can fires be detected and controlled? And what does an effective safety concept look like? These and other practical aspects are the focus of the event.
