Guided tours through the CARL or M5BAT
All participants of the Battery Day NRW and the Kraftwerk Batterie conference are cordially invited to a guided tour and discussion in a convivial atmosphere at the Center for Ageing, Reliability and Lifetime Prediction of Electrochemical and Power Electronic Systems (CARL) at RWTH Aachen University and the ISEA Test Centre for Storage Systems after the end of the official programme.
A separate tour is headed for the M5BAT large-scale storage facility. As part of the M5BAT project, the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) is conducting research into how battery storage can be stabilised and operated economically with the help of an intelligent control and management system. The 5.6 MW / 5.5 MWh battery storage facility participating in the electricity market relies on a combination of five different battery technologies.
The number of participants is limited.

- ISEA M5BAT tour
Tuesday, 01.04.2025, from 18:15 Uhr
The bus transfer starts at 5:45 pm at the Eurogress Aachen.
- Tour of CARL
Thursday, 01.04.2025, from 18:15 hrs
The bus transfer starts at 17:45 at the Eurogress Aachen
The tours take place in small groups.
The event locations are
CARL, Campus-Boulevard 89, 52074 Aachen and
ISEA M5BAT, Hüttenstraße 5, 52068 Aachen.
Transport will be provided from the Eurogress to the institute buildings and back to the Eurogress.
After the tour, we look forward to lively discussions over drinks and snacks at CARL.
