Go Beyond the Trends: Felipe Salinas on the Scientific Depth of the Poster Exhibition
For Dr. Felipe Salinas from Vattenfall Solar GmbH, the poster exhibition at Advanced Battery Power offers something that is difficult to obtain from presentations or technology reports alone: direct access to the scientific expertise behind emerging battery technologies.
In his role, Salinas evaluates next-generation technologies that could become relevant for future battery projects. Conversations with poster authors allow him to explore the underlying chemistry, assess the maturity of different approaches and discuss the technical and economic challenges that still need to be addressed.
His own contribution to Advanced Battery Power 2026 also connected scientific modelling with industrial practice. Together with Firas Alhaider, he presented a cell-based state-of-health model validated with operating data from a grid-scale battery energy storage system.
At Advanced Battery Power 2027, the poster exhibition will once again bring together around 180 scientific contributions, with authors available on site to explain their results and discuss their work directly with researchers and industry professionals. From 7 to 9 April 2027 in Aachen, the conference will provide an effective forum for identifying promising technologies, questioning assumptions and gaining insights that extend well beyond the printed poster.
