Additional tours for interested participants

This year, the Advanced Battery Power conference is once again offering participants the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at leading research institutions. Immediately following the conference programme, there will be two special guided tours, for which only a limited number of places are available. Early registration is therefore recommended.

Tour 1: MEET Battery Research Centre at the University of Münster

The MEET Battery Research Centre is opening its doors exclusively to participants of the NRW Battery Day and the ‘Power Plant Battery – Advanced Battery Power’ conference.

The event will kick off with a keynote speech providing insight into the current research priorities of one of Germany’s leading centres for battery materials, cell systems and process development. This will be followed by a tour of selected laboratories, including the impressive 1,000-square-metre technical centre with its highly specialised dry room. The virtually water-free atmosphere in this room offers ideal conditions for the production of safe and durable battery cells, making the visit a real highlight.

Tour 2: FFB PreFab – Insights into the open battery cell factory

The second excursion takes us to FFB PreFab, the open battery cell factory of the Fraunhofer Research Production Battery Cell FFB. Since its opening in 2024, it has served as a central platform for industry and research to test new machines, processes and cell designs and transfer them to industrial scale. During the exclusive tour, participants will gain direct insight into the state-of-the-art facilities, European machine technologies and current research topics related to scalable battery cell production. In addition, they will learn how the FFB supports companies and research partners alike on their journey from pilot production to the optimisation of complete production lines.

Note: Both tours are only available to a small group. Participation is only possible after prior registration. We recommend securing a place as soon as possible. Registration forms will be available later in the conference programme.
