Due to the broad use of parallel-connected cells across multiple applications, it is essential to understand the current distribution between them. Variations in resistance, temperature and capacity can lead to an inhomogeneous current distribution and have a deleterious influence on ageing and safety. It is therefore crucial to investigate the current distribution within such systems.

With an accurate and reproducible measurement of the current distribution between parallel cells different analysis and diagnostics can be performed. The challenge of the common test bench is to minimize and to define the influencing factors due the current measurement. For example, with an introduction of additional resistances on each string the current distribution can be affect adversely in a homogeneous as well as in inhomogeneous way.

The poster shows an insight about my submitted paper: A Novel Measurement Technique for Parallel-Connected Lithium-Ion Cells with Controllable Interconnection Resistance.
In this poster I will show you two experiments. The first experiment talks about the influence of inhomogeneous additonal resistances, where only on one path an aditonal resistances is added. The second experiment shows the influence of homogeneous additonal resistances.
